A Few Words About Wordless Books
Don't be afraid of wordless books. "Wordless" does not mean that you have to make up a story to go with the pictures. In the case of a baby's book, it means that an illustration (of say, a shoe) is enough visual stimulation for a baby. If you point to it a say, "There's a shoe" (and over time, elaborate on that sentence, introducing adjectives, colors, etc.), your baby will likely be enchanted. In the case of a wordless book for an older child, the story is already within the illustrations. Honest. Just look and you'll see it. Chat with your child about the story's progression on each page -- and have fun!
