What would it feel like to be a teen promised in marriage to an older man, the khan, leader of your tribe, whom you dislike intensely and whose three other wives have all died? This is Anahita's fate, until she convinces her father that she can find a husband another way. Bravely, Anahita suggests a contest. She will weave a riddle into her wedding carpet, and whosoever solves the riddle can take Anahita's hand in marriage. The khan is furious at this highly irregular suggestion and threatens to cut off the tribe's water rights. Will Anahita be able to go through with her wild plan? And can she be happy with any of the four men who show up to try their hand?
