It was toy ''testing'' time, and with so many toys to choose from, my grandson and I had our work cut out for us. Being a total ''boy,'' he swooned when he saw the ''action'' toys, but what won his heart (and attention span!) for the entire weekend was Rondo Vario, 2008 winner of the Family Fun Magazine Toy of the Year Award.
To play, first you toss the dice to determine a color-and-shape combination. Then you string the corresponding wooden beads to form caterpillars. The first player to complete his caterpillar wins. Seeing the wild creations at the end is just as much fun as the game itself!
Since Tristin's teacher suggested he needed help with shape recognition, this was the perfect game for him. For holding your child's interest, developing fine motor skills, and promoting color and shape recognition, you can't go wrong with this game! Includes 4 caterpillars, 42 colored wooden shapes, and 2 dice.
