How to Cook What You Want to Eat
Jill Carle, Megan Carle
When I was about 12 years old, I decided to take control of the kitchen every Saturday. Since Mom hated to cook and Dad would eat anything, this was not a problem. I had free rein to make anything I wanted, so with Mom's never-used Good Housekeeping Cookbook, I ventured into the world of making-things-from-scratch. My debut meal consisted of Lasagna, Caesar Salad, and Baked Alaska.
It would have been glorious to have had this cookbook as my first. I'd have learned a lot of stuff from simply reading, rather than by the ''hard'' way, and my repertoire would have been vastly larger than it turned out to be.
