This delightful book is a rollicking rhyme fest about the alphabet. The basic story is quite simple. The characters (the letters A-Z) are all trying to climb up to the top of a coconut tree. Just when they all squeeze in, the tree leans over from the weight and all the little letters fall out in a big heap on the ground. All the grownup letters come to rescue their babies from the pile and everyone goes home nursing their various injuries. Doesn't sound like much -- but, if you add a little rock and roll to your voice, a simple story becomes GREAT fun. Here's a sample: ''Skit skat skoodle doot. Flip flop flee. Everybody running to the coconut tree. Mamas and papas and uncles and aunts hug their little dears, then dust their pants.''
