When her stepmother throws fifteen-year-old Eliza Rose out of her home, she travels to London to find her father and arrives starving. Imprisoned for stealing a pastry, she finds herself in squalid conditions. Surprisingly, she finds herself in the theater and carnival and even singing for the King.
