Brian Selznick
Illustrated by Brian Selznick
WATCH VIDEO!
I am in awe of Brian Selznick's remarkable books told both in words and his trademark black and white illustrations. Here is another masterful creation that blends two stories, one told in words, the other in pictures. And while neither words nor pictures alone can tell the story, reading it is an experience to be savored and enjoyed.
The book opens in 1977 with Ben trying to find his way after the death of his mother, then segues to illustrations that tell the story of Rose in 1927 who dreams about a silent film actress.
