WATCH AUTHOR INTERVIEW
A family of sea mice has the yearly task of collecting shooting stars that have fallen from the sky as winter begins. The glowing stars are considered pieces of magic since they provide much-needed light to the mouse community.
Many of the spreads contain a bit of this magic thanks to the silvery, iridescent stars that just about jump off the pages, while the lush blues and chilly whites beautifully capture the winter scenery.
As the family starts out on their journey, a fierce storm threatens to cut short their mission, but they quickly gather the stars, only to realize one of the children is missing. A soft glow shows them where to find her, and there's a joyous celebration as they bestow the magical stars to other families. This tale of generosity and love shows us that true gifts are those best shared.
