A little girl draws a beautiful paper princess, but before she completely finishes her creation, the wind whisks the princess away. As she drifts into the sky, the princess calls down, "Don't worry, I'll finish myself." And so her adventures begin. In the end, the princess flutters down to the ground where she meets a sad little boy. He is drawing a present for his sister and the drawing has just blown away. The paper princess offers him her other side and so he draws a beautiful meadow on the backside of her body. He gives the princess to his sister and watches a joyful reunion. His sister and the princess' girl are the same person. What a heavenly moment! Such a lovely story! I can never decide whether I like the story or the illustrations the most. Kleven's art is quite unique, a cross between painting and collage that results in pictures filled with exceptionally bright colors and plenty of detail. This would be a wonderful addition to your family's library.
