Sherlock Holmes and the Baker Street Irregulars
Tracy Mack, Michael Citrin
More by Tracy Mack or Michael Citrin
Sherlock Holmes starring in a series of mysteries for young adults? I'm so there! And, you know, I always got the feeling that Holmes had more assistance on his cases than just good ol' Dr. Watson -- a much more ''street smart'' element. The Baker Street Irregulars, a gang of orphaned boys, fit that role in spades.
I am sorry to see this absorbing series come to an end, but this final book sure delivers! The trusted assistants are on the case as Sherlock Holmes' plan to capture Professor Moriarty doesn't go quite as, er, planned. So the Baker Street Irregulars kick it into high gear on a chase that takes them off their home turf across the seas to Europe on the trail of devious Moriarty, considered by many the most dangerous man in England. With a clever twist at the end, this conclusion of the suspenseful series will fill readers with satisfaction.
