Take a rollicking, rhyming foray into a meadow with five sheep who happen to have a jeep at their disposal. Text is simple. The first three pages consist of these words: "Beep! Beep! Sheep in a jeep on a hill that's steep." The rest of the story describes in rhyme what happens when the jeep breaks down, the sheep give it a push, the driver doesn't look where he's steering, the jeep ends up in a puddle, etc. If it weren't for the appeal of such a silly text, this would be one of those classic cases where the colored pencil pictures speak louder than the words. The sheep will endear themselves to you from the beginning and become even more appealing as the story progresses. Great intro to rhyming, too!
